The park&#8217;s diverse landscapes range from acacia woodlands and savannah to riverine forests, supporting a wide variety of animals and over 450 bird species.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Key attractions and activities<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/viewer\/place?mid=\/m\/079zbq&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiB7Jigp8iPAxVqVEEAHWXKLTgQqdYPegYIAwgGEAA\">Murchison Falls<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0and boat safaris<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">The park is named after the iconic Murchison Falls, where the entire volume of the Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 45 meters down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li4\"><span class=\"s4\">Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls:\u00a0A boat trip up the Nile offers incredible wildlife viewing, with many animals and birds congregating at the riverbanks. You can see large numbers of hippos and huge Nile crocodiles, as well as elephants and buffaloes.<\/span><\/li><li class=\"li4\"><span class=\"s4\">Hike to the top of the falls:\u00a0For a more sensory experience, a guided hike from the river&#8217;s edge takes you to the top of the falls, where you can feel the thunderous power of the water and enjoy breathtaking panoramic class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Game drives<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Game drives are concentrated in the northern section of the park, which features open savannah grasslands ideal for spotting animals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s3\">Buligi game track:\u00a0This peninsula between the Albert and Victoria Nile is a prime game-viewing area. It is home to animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, and Uganda kobs.<\/span><\/li><li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s3\">Delta area:\u00a0At the Nile-Lake Albert Delta, you can spot waterbirds and predators lurking near the water&#8217;s edge.<\/span><\/li><li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s3\">Chobe sector:\u00a0This northeastern part of the park features different scenery and is another excellent area for game viewing.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Chimpanzee tracking in\u00a0Budongo Forest<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The\u00a0Budongo Forest Reserve, part of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, offers guided chimpanzee tracking excursions. The forest is also home to other primates and diverse birdlife. A similar experience is available in the\u00a0Kaniyo Pabidi Forest, known for its extensive mahogany and ironwood trees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/viewer\/place?mid=\/m\/09v1h5b&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiB7Jigp8iPAxVqVEEAHWXKLTgQqdYPegYIAwgPEAA\">Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary<\/a><\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While there are no rhinos within Murchison Falls National Park itself, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/viewer\/place?mid=\/m\/09v1h5b&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiB7Jigp8iPAxVqVEEAHWXKLTgQqdYPegYIAwgQEAE\"><span class=\"s4\">Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is located en route from Kampala. It is the only place in Uganda to see white rhinos in the wild and can be added as a stopover to complete a &#8220;Big Five&#8221; safari experience. Visitors can go on a guided rhino trek on foot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Birdwatching<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With over 450 species recorded, the park is a birdwatcher&#8217;s paradise.
